I am building my pc and and bought on the recommendation of someone the RTX 2060 6GB GDRR6 Is there a better graphics card out there I should be looking at? When I looked at a benchmark comparison, it seemed lower than others, but I know benchmarks aren't everything. I will be running a 144 hz 1ms refresh rate 1440 screen or two with the card I chose.

What are the rest of the components you have selected? What make and model of PSU?

For $400 you can get an RX5700xt, which performs better than an RTX2070 and far better than an RTX2060.

I wouldn't pair any GPU with that power supply. Heck, I wouldn't pair any system with that power supply.
Sentey is a very poor brand of power supplies.

You will need to buy a new decent PSU.

You will not be able to use new hardware safely on that PSU, so you must replace it.

Read your entire article and now I am more confused. I already blew my budget on the upgrade my wife gave me so what would be a decent PSU for not a lot of $$$.

You have to understand the PSU is very important. Choosing a bad PSU for good components like this can reduce this life span of your system and at worst out right kill it.

Okay, so I am going to upgrade to the Themaltek. It makes a lot of sense and if I am going to buy a PSU I don't want to buy the minimum. So now back to the graphic card problem. So the general consenus seems to be is to NOT get the 2060 for $360 and get 1 of the following:

  1. 2060 Super
  2. 2070
  3. 5070 (Saphire or the GigaByte XT

Question about Ray Tracing: I looked at the games that can utilize it and there are none that I would play or if I did that I would care much about it.

If you just want performance, go buy the 5700 XT. Ray tracing is a nice to have, and when you turn it on it can at worst cut your FPS in half or at best lower it some. If you don't care about the games that support it, you already have your answer. Also you will not find an OG 2070 for under $400 new, I think the cheapest 2070 is $440.

Also, depending what time frame you will upgrade your card in might matter as well. If you intend to upgrade your card again in say 2 or 3 years, then ray tracing will probably be more relevant by then. I would say that ray tracing is probably still in it's infancy, and getting the fastest card you can afford would be wise.
