Build Link - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HRVqNG

Ok so I have been posting from time to time on here asking advice about a build. Finally put it all together and bought ALMOST all of my parts. I'm waiting for the ROG SWIFT to get back in stock at Newegg unless someone really changes my mind about it, It looks like an awesome monitor.

I am looking for input on what graphics cards to run with this build. Obviously this decision is between the GTX 970 and the GTX 980. Either route I will go with SLI. Really just want to know if 970s will have any issues at all pushing this monitor at high to ultra settings with comfortable FPS for the next few years. Would it be worth it for me to get 2 980's? Budget isn't too big of an issue.

I plan to eventually water cool so I am wondering what card will be best for this. Reference coolers or the aftermarket cards such as the gigabyte G1 or the ASUS strix.

It's not that money is not an issue, I just dont mind spending a little more than my budget. Especially if its a smart buy.

Also that was a great link and pretty much made up my mind on the GTX 970. However I'm still looking for what version to buy.

Yea GTX 970s are definitely a smart buy. The only company I have had experience with is EVGA. I had to RMA a card and it was a breeze with there customer service. They are quick to reply and the process is pretty easy. I myself am going to be getting a GTX 970 from them pretty soon.

Why don't you get a gtx 980
?

Why don't you check out the link I posted.

It shows that the GTX 980 is better than the GTX 970? Why not get a GTX 980? It would last you for quite some time and you can SLI it in the future when GTX 980 is much more cheap.

The GTX 980 is only $200 more expensive, and you say money is not a problem so for you, i say you should go for the best gaming graphic card out there right now which is the GTX 980.

Well i'm planning on running SLI either way I go. I'm just wondeing if I will see much benefit of going SLI 980s vs SLI 970s

I am really thinking he is.. So 2 GTX 970's it is!

- edit. What card should I go with? The Gigabyte G1 is the card everyone seems to say is the best. that or the MSI but i really dont like the looks of the MSI.

Get the Gigabyte, Looks is important. That said the Gigabyte is also my personal favorite.

Go with what you find the most attractive, there all the same chip. The coolers aren't even needed unless you plan on OCing like mad. If you plan on OCing wait a couple more weeks for EVGA's classifieds to come out.

Just as soon as I thought I had decided. Any idea what the Classifieds will cost? I plan to eventually full water-cool loop so there will be enough cooling for OCing.

You two guys have forgotten about the GTX 780 TI, it is way better than the GTX 970. You might as well buy two GTX 780 Ti, you will see way better performance difference compared to two GTX 970, and GTX 780 TI price is dropping as, its launch was $700!!!!

"The Cudacores are worth it though."

You really don't get the point, I am sorry I don't want users to waste their money for a >10% difference.

"You two guys have forgotten about the GTX 780 TI, it is way better than the GTX 970."

Is it now?

Again check out my link. I do not call that 'way better'.

Also note - many places the GTX 780Ti is still far more expensive, usually never is it cheaper.

10% Difference is a lot in graphic cards, even 5% is alot.

what are you on about? GTX 980 is not 10% boost performance over the GTX 970. That the GTX 780 TI.

The GTX 980 is 20% more faster than the GTX 970. I think you need to do your own research Spooner.

Please do not tell me that 20% is not alot. The OP is thinking about buying two graphic cards so if he gets two GTX 980 that would be 40% better performance than two GTX 970 for an extra $400.
Also he has a budget of $4000, so i don't see your point.
