4000$ gaming build

I want to build a pc for my friend whose budget is 4000$ plus minus 1000$

Approximate Purchase Date: the closer the better

Budget Range: 3000$-5000$

System Usage from Most to Least Important: games, watching movies and surfing

Parts Not Required: speakers or headphones and keyboard and mouse but he would need a monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: by brand or type : intel cpu, 1600 monitor, a full tower and good looking

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Monitor Resolution: he wants 30" 2560 x 1600

Additional Comments: a cool quiet pc which looks good and not so much bling and fancy lights

I'd get 3x 42" 1080p TVs for my monitors before I went with an 30" IPS... IPS screens are overpriced right now. See if you can find yourself a few 28-30" 1920x1200 if you want something with a little more realestate than 1080p. IPS is not worth it unless you're heavily into graphic design work etc.

Ya but you guys are pro or know much more than me and you might know something which i dont or something is been left out thats why i posted on toms.
And if anything releases within a week he will buy that like ive or kepler but it aint possible as samples will be sent to reviewers and will be tested and then after few days or weeks it will be released till then it will be month

But he is ready to pull the trigger . but he was asking for custom wc loop for cpu and 3 gpu and mobo as well as ram he is ready to spend another 1-2k for that any recomendations

7970 is a last gen GPU? I don't get that.

I know but he is bit noobish. i tried to convince him but he wanted 580. he was asking hydrocopper 2 tri sli and that completly blew up

Yeah that's not a good choice - that's like building an $18K build with the most expensive parts and calling it a Ferrari where a far, far less expensive Buick is considered a luxury car. :lol:

No the last gen card would be the 580. When there is 7970 out there and 680 coming.

the 680 is the way to go. If you can find one now. I would wait another week maybe two to see how low some prices can go.
