So I've really fallen behind in the pc gaming community and it's time for a new build. Would appreciate any help i could get. I would also like it to be VR ready and I'm not really thinking about watercooling if that helps with anything. Thanks.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, VR use, Streaming, general usage.

Wait for upcoming hardware which are just few months away. It will be worth the wait. In the mean time add as much as possible more to the budget so that you don't have to cut corners by compromising on quality or performance to fit the budget. Go all out with the build.

For the best gaming PC sub $4000 Australian, then the 10600K matched to a RTX 2080Ti cannot be beaten other than by a 10900K and that is only be fractions. The Z490 gives an upgrade path the Rocket Lake and Gen 4 PCIe next year...For a little extra you can jump to the 10700K and both can hit 5GHz all core with relative ease with streaming not being an issue. Yes go Ryzen on the 3600 if you want to save money but the 3900X really is for productivity as in gaming the Intel 10th gen is better if gaming is the focus...
