hi there...
i've planned to buy a CPU with the following config:
INTEL core i3 2100 3.06 GHz
ASUS P8 H61 ML X
DDR3 1x4GB (1333)
COOLER MASTER K100 CAB with 400W PSU
WINDOWS 7

---15"lcd monitor (1024x768"MAX")

m goin to buy an HD 5670 DDR5....
----PLEASE TELL ME WHETHER THE INBUILT PSU OF COOLERMASTER-K100 (400W) IS ENOUGH FOR HD 5670 or NOT...

----SECONDLY I dont knw if 512mb is enough or 1gb is required....Btw i want to play all of the latest games and i will stick to 5670 itself due to PSU restriction...

Plz suggest me what you think is right....

THANKS IN ADVANCE...

does that included PSU is from cooler master or from other manufacturer other than cooler master? btw i think you should be fine. AMD recommend 400w PSU with 5670. for generic PSU something like 500w or 550w should be fine with 5670 though it is not a very good idea to use generic PSU. as for the card you should get the one with 512mb of memory. that should be enough with your monitor resolution. going for 1GB card won't give you extra performance over the one that only have 512mb of memory

A quality 400W PSU is enough for a HD5670. Coolermaster, maybe, maybe not. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-eXtreme-Power-Plus-400-W-Power-Supply-Review/957/9 shows it's good for its labeled output, but not cleanly; at only 309W the +12V had bad ripple and noise (the kind of thing that causes instability). I'd discount the labeled wattage and the +12V amperage by 25%. Fortunately, the HD5670 needs only about 66W (5.5A) running flat out. You're not likely to exceed the load of test #3, which passed (although with low efficiency), so you should be ok.

400W is plenty,, your system won't even use half that
- if you are gonna game, might as well get the 1GB, will hold more textures in memory and allow a little smoother gameplay. -- as long as you know you won't be cranking all the settings, a 5670 isn't going to play everything maxxed

The included PSU is from COOLERMASTER itself.....Is it ok then?

Will i be able to play fifa 10 or 11 maxxed out..AT 1024x 768...?
GTA 4?
Just cause 2?

for that low a resolution, it should be pretty good, my father in law has a 240GT, which is about same amount of performance and I can play fallout 3 maxxed out on it and thats at 1680x1050.
If you plan to play GTA 4, definitely go with the 1GB, it is notorious for needing alot of textures.

In case i go with 1GB,what do you have to say about my PSU(coolermaster k100 with inbuilt 400W)?Enough?

What kind of problems might they be........i mean, how can i identify?

400W is easily enough for a card like the 5670. Also based on your screen size you will be fine with 512mb. If you want some really good advice you should looks at getting a bigger screen (21") first as that will give you far more pleasure than a faster graphics card on a 15" screen.

Jesus Christ guys come on. You should know that anyone who has (or is going to buy) a 15" screen will get much more benefit out of advice to upgrade their screen.

If you had a 15" screen would you advise buying a faster card or cpu? No you'd advise buying a bigger screen. READ what people are asking and don't be afraid to give them the advice that they really need.

actually i dont have any plans of upgradin my moniter yet,so....But thanks for ur advice....

Now i do feel i must upgrade my monitor ,cant afford a new monitor at this moment, but may be a second hand one......
in case i buy a 21" monitor jus lyk u said ,is Hd 5670 enough to play games like fifa 11(upcoming 12),gta 4,cod,NFS HP,dirt series and other latest games maxxed out??or in 17" or 19"??

Oh, you'll know, like sparking, smoke, burnt electricity smell,,, quite easy to identify.

seriously, if it works now, it will probably work for a while longer,, just keep an eye on the voltages from time to time - save some money.

u've got me seriously worried...
But i've heard an HD5670 running fine on a 350W PSU....How is that possible then??

its cooler master brand itself....(built- in with cooler master k100 cabinet)
here's a link--->

couldn't find any details about that PSU...

when do you plan on to do monitor upgrade? if still want to keep your current monitor for something like a year than stay with 5670. but if you going to upgrade in 3-4 months later than you might want to get something better. the card should be fine at 1024x768 or 1280x800 but any higher you will have to tone down some setting to have better performance. as for the power supply you should be fine.

1280x800 is supported by wat size of monitor(inches?).......?
