So I'm building my first PC and when I was buying the graphics card (PowerColor Radeon RX 570 4 GB Red Devil Video Card) I didn't notice any "minimum requirement" on the store page. However, when it arrived on the box it said "450W minimal" to power it. I've gone through threads seeing if I was able to run it safely for a decent amount of time (1-2 months) with the 400W PSU I had already bought before I upgrade to a 450W PSU, with mixed results. So I decided to make my own thread and hopefully get an answer. Here are the full specs for the computer
  • AMD FX-8350 4 GHz 8-Core Processor
  • Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard
  • Patriot Signature 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
  • Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • PowerColor Radeon RX 570 4 GB Red Devil Video Card
  • Deepcool TESSERACT BF ATX Mid Tower Case
  • EVGA 400 W ATX Power Supply
  • LG GH24NSC0B DVD/CD Writer
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

Most likely you will not see any issues the GPU itself uses 120Watts of power. Minimum recommended is based on approximations on what a complete system will use plus a little leeway. It is possible you will have issues however.
