currently I have a pc with the 7800xt for about a week but was thinking of refunding and spending the extra for the 4070 ti super since I will hold onto this card for a long time. I intend to use the card for all of college for something in engineering or cs and my senior year hs next year. Also most of the games I play are competitive titles but I do play some story games too. but But I was wondering if I should stick with what I have already or wait till like late 2024 or early 2025 to see the next generation.

It's going to be kindda expensive - at least $300 more than 7800xt.
If you play at 4k and require RTX/DLSS features, then it might be worth it.

For 1440p - 7800xt is still a perfect option ( if you don't absolutely need RTX ).
Yeah I think I will stick I play on 240 hz 1440 thank you

Been a tough call for me right now. 4070 would definitely serve you a few years but you pay for it. Right now I’ve locked my budget at under 600, but can wait a few months. If I don’t smell a new AMD generation by July, I will probably scoop up a 4070 super. The Nvidia next gen seems to be slated for 2025.
