Hi all,

A bit of a noob question here:

I've just received my my new 4080 Super (MSI Ventus X3 OC) today, and have only now realised it requires three connections from the PSU, whilst my current 3070 Ti only requires two, per the picture below:

How do I go about actually go about getting the thing running from here?

Full PC specs here:

Thanks!

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Other installed components?

Getting things running means ensuring that the system has the necessary wattage/PSU to support all installed components especially at times of peak use and rapid changes in power demands.

If you don't have the necessary connectors from your PSU, you either have;
a| the wrong components for the build
or
b| the wrong PSU for the build.

What is the make and model of your PSU and it's age?

Thanks.

The PC is an HP Omen 40L from 2022 that I bought brand new, with a Z690 board, Intel 12700K, 800W Gold PSU.

The PSU in your HP only has 2 PCIe connectors. You need a PSU with three or a PSU with a 12VHPWR cable so you have to replace the PSU. Omen uses a normal ATX PSU so replacing is easy. Pick one of the top 10 in this chart https://hwbusters.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/perf_115V-24-768x2725.png Source: https://hwbusters.com/best_picks/best-atxv3-pcie5-ready-psus-picks-hardware-busters/4/ All these units have a 12VHPWR connector.

Thank you. So I would I be right in saying this would be suitable?:

EDIT: Bought it. Will look tidier just being able to use the single 12VHPWR cable at least!
