Hi all,

I'm waiting for my Palit gamerock 4090 OC to be delivered. The power cable it comes with needs 4 x 8 pin PCIe cables.

My psu is the Thermaltake toughpower GF1 1000w, so only has 3 x 6+2 PCIe cables. However, it does have 2 connectors per cable. Will it be OK for one of the adapter plugs, to use the 2nd PCIe connector on one of the cables? Or does it need to be 4 seperate cables from the psu?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You should be fine. Use this;

Every 4090 requires 4x8pin (or equivalent) in order to get the full 600w usage. Every 4090 will also accept 3x8pin (or equivalent) and run at 450w with no issues. Unless you plan on trying to get every last erg of power out of the card, the amount of FPS generated between 450w and 600w seriously isn't worth the difference in almost every aspect.

There's 5x pcie ports on that psu, you have options.
