rumour sites at GWs request. That's it. All speculation and rumours come
from that leaked image, as far as I know. Bear in mind that there's no
confirmation that it'll even appear as a model, for all we know its a

I have a copy of the original image, I'll stick it on genbus.

There is also a lot of "friend of a friend (that works at GW)" rumors
too. But as with this kind of stuff the bullshit to information ratio
will undoubtedly be high.
Here are some things that I have heard in order of plausibility.

Cheap auxiliaries, eh? Just what the Tau are short of...
>Vespids will have flamers of some sort.
Put this up to 1 in plausibilty - that's what the model's armed with.
Looks good too. I'd expect them to be fielded in rather small teams if
every model carries one, though.

i.e. 4+ or 5+ save. Par for the course; I'd guess 5+ looking at the
picture and given that Tau have nothing in this range (unless they get
Gue'vesa).
>Vespids will be a Jump (or winged equivalent) troop.
Pretty much certain - they definitely do have wings.

In that case, plastic Piranhas and Tetras are rumours, as are
incorporating FW suit upgrades into the armoury, allowing hard-wired
targeting arrays and infiltration, the Stingray missile gunship and
Elite sniper teams with BS4 rail rifles.
