450 Watt plat psu vs 500 wat bronze psu

Graphics card says minimum should be 500 watt bronze psu. But can a 450 watt plat psu be the equivalent. I have a lenovo x315 and i really want to use my evga 970 gtx card today. I have a 750 watt psu ready to use. But lenovo psu to motherboard requires a 24 to 14 atx adapter. How many of you think its ok for me to use the 450 watt platinum power supply(FS 80). And how many of you think i should wait for the dam adapter :/ it's going to take several weeks for it to come.

What is the exact models of the 450W and 500W psu's you are considering?

I have a FSP 450W 80 plus platinum. I want to know if that can support an evga 970 gtx.
the min watt needed according to website is 500 watts but its based on bronze setting. So im asking if 450 w plat is = to bronze 500 watt

FSP Raider is ranked Tier 4, which is the second lowest rank in terms of PSU quality (which is different from its efficiency and wattage), so I would definitely get a different PSU since you will probably cut it a little close on wattage.

What EVGA PSU do you have in mind?

Ah, sorry, didn't realise the time on the thread lol.

That is probably a better PSU, though not by much (CX series, despite popularity, isn't a great unit).

750w should cover for 1 970 though

I wanted to know if i could run it on a 450 w plat for now until i get a 14 pin adapter that allows me to hook it up to motherboard for the new psu
