460 or 5770

Hey guys i am planning to buy a graphics card: 5770 or 460?

here are my system configs
C2D e6750 2.66 ghz
intel oem d33fb mobo
2 gb ddr2 800 mhz ram
corsair vx450 psu
win 7

i plan to upgrade to a i5 750 or equivalent next year.

ill max play games at 1080p, mostly i play games at 720p. besides i alsowatch a lot of hd content

please suggest which gpu to go for

I agree, performance wise their is really nothing that can compare with the HD5870 right now except for the GTX 480 and it's heat and power requirements make it unattractive. But looking at sadain's PSU and the rest of his build, it makes the HD5870 an unrealistic option (unless they're willing to upgrade the PSU as well). That's why I suggested the GTX 460. :)

A 5770 at HD resolutions is definately not an option.

If money is the restricting factor then a 1gb 460 would be the ideal purchase. OC'd they can perform like a 5850 which is the minimum power I would want for gaming at that resolution
