Hi Guys,

My config is as follow:

AMD 4600x2 (Windsor socket AM2)
Mobo EVGA Nforce 590
3 Gig RAM
DD Samsung 501LJ (500GIG)
GC Sapphire HD4850
OS Vista 32bits SP1

Is my CPU "bottlenecking" my HD4850?

My performances in a game like Crysis are very poor (actually not much better than with my old X1950Pro. Arround 20 FPS in high settings so I am just playing in medium).

I was not planning in upgrading further but if I do go for an 5600x2 or 600x2, am I going to "unleash my HD4850 power?
Or maybe should I overclock my current CPU? I have managed to get 2.8Ghz (stock is 2.4) on stock cooling. I have just ordered a Asaka K-876 (any good?). With this new cooler I am hoping to reach 3.0Ghz.
Any comment would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The numbers seem low. I'm running an AMD 64 4200+ operating at 2.3GHZ with 2G of Ram and an HD4850.
On Crysis I'm getting about 30 FRPS average measured by FRAPs while playing the game at 1920 X 1080 on medium settings. I do see the fps drop to about 20 at times. I don't get many more fps when operating at 1280 X 720, still on medium setting, therefore I would say my system is definately CPU bottlenecked.

Drivers and power supply may be a good place to look. I would think 2.8 GHZ with your current CPU should be enough.
