hey all, firstly, my system, 4600+ X2, 1 2g pny stick of DDR2 800, X800Xt @560:600 (rock solid, came from previous previous build) J&W JWTA690G mobo (i know, not the best brand) new 500watt seasonic psu.

Okay to the overclocking, my pc randomly reboots when overclocked at all. At first it had some problems thanks to me forgetting about HT link, and the HT link running at 1200mhz... The overclocks i have had are 2.8GHZ 233mhz (X12 multi) with cpu voltage at 1.45V, mem at lower ratio to achieve a safe 376mhz, and HT at 4X to give 932mhz (below 1050 safezone).

Same problems occur at all overclocks less than this also. What am i missing?

Thanks everyone.

Well, i set ram to manual 800 (was set to max 800 so it auto scaled). Auto timings since its just at its default speed and voltage. HT set to auto, although HT is running at 1170, too high as far as i am concerned. Cpu at 2.8, passes prime 95 torture until it randomly reboots, sometimes passing for an hour or two, than if i try to open or close and app BAM it restarts, sometimes with a bsod about bad pool header or a driver.

Wish it would "just work" but thats why im in this game, the challenge.

Will edit post when it restarts, rock solid for now.

Well, its been 2 hours of audiosurf and still no crash :)

Restarts and BSODs are just your CPU hitting random errors. Happened to me before on stock settings and had to send it in. So first make sure that it is running 100% for 24 hours stress test on stock settings. Put nothing on auto. If that works, then take your memory off of auto even if it's running under what it's rated at. Put the HT multiplier down to 1x and start all over again. (I used to have a 939 AMD and that's the way things were done back then was to start with HT at 1X, or whichever is lowest, and then increase it once a stable overclock was found. I'm not sure how AM2's are done now though as I have an intel)
