Hello,

I need your help, as I'm not used to PC-building upgrading and wattage restrictions (I have a 460W PSU).
So I want to upgrade my GPU to something that can run both Assassin's Creed Unity and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at medium specs and at least 30-40 fps.

Here is my current computer, if you need to know the whole build: http://goo.gl/0w9IMh

So what do you recommend? Is that even possible without upgrading the PSU?

Thank you a lot!

Well the truth is,I don't look at the amps or any info when buying a PSU(yeh IK embarrassing), I just buy a branded 500w-600w PSU and I'm sure I'm safe.

Well if your getting one, here's a tier list from Toms http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html#13224310 get tier 1 if you don't want any problems and future proof.

Here's some suggestions.

this will left you with $200 in your budget for a GPU

you could definitely run a gtx 750 Ti in it no problem. but with an OEM PSU like that i dunno how much i would trust it to run even mid-range video cards

R7 260x looks nice, but on Newegg, (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202081) it says it requires a 500W PSU (I have the 6-Pin connector though).

PSU has 1 6-pin PCIe connector. But I know 6 to 8 pin adapters do exist... My budget would go up to around 250$. I just want to be sure to play these two games with decent graphics.

Your PSU will run it fine unless its a trash PSU, and just like my HD 7730 with its 400w requirement PSU I'm running it fine with this old Optiplex 780 MT with its 305w PSU.

Is the R7 260X the best one I can get? Because, when comparing it to R9 270, the R9 seems better, according to this: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270-vs-Radeon-R7-260X

Also, should I stick with AMD (since my whole computer is AMD based, or should I opt for the Nvidia gpus instead?)

Edit: apparently both R7 260x and R9 270 are lower in performance than the Radeon HD 7970 (the minimum required GPU for AC Unity)

The PSU is HP. Manufactured by AcBel Polytech Inc. Form Factor: Internal ATX.

If I am to change my PSU, how do I chose one? I know Wattage matters, but how about Amperage on the 12V rail? (I do not know what that means, but some people say it's important).
