This is my first post on this forum, so if this is in the wrong spot (I don't think it is) then please bare with me.

System Specs:

Intel 4670k
NZXT Phantom 410
Corsair CX600
ASRock Extreme 4 Z87 mobo
Corsair H100i
EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SC
8GB G.Skill Trident X F3-2400C10D-8GTX

So it would seem that I have gotten a stable OC of 4.5ghz @ 1.225v on my chip. It went through 20 passes on IBT on maximum (max temp of 88C, but averaged around 80-82C) and it has gone through 9 hours of AIDA64 (max temp of 75C but averaged around 60C).

This is with the RAM clocked at 2400mhz, so I know I'm overclocking the memory controller. So I guess my question is, if I were to lower the RAM frequency to something closer to 1600-1866mhz and just tighten the timings a bit, do you think I would be able to squeeze a little bit more out of my processors clock speed?

I'm happy with these temps, but I wouldn't really want to go any higher, but I do know with the memory controller OC'd, that would be adding more heat.

I had tried 4.6ghz at 1.25v but was getting closer to 95C in IBT so I lowered the voltage to 1.225 and that helped with the temp, but got a BSOD in IBT at 4.6ghz and 1.225v.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced for any help I may receive.

I am not 100% sure if lowering the RAM clock would help you get the CPU up higher, but would you mind posting your BIOS settings?

I have the same board and CPU as you, but haven't had much luck in overclocking (granted I only tried once or twice). Most guides i followed used a different MB with different names for each settings.

Thanks!

My BIOS settings, I'm assuming you mean this.

The CPU is set to 4.5ghz at 1.225v

The RAM is running at its XMP Profile of 2400mhz at 10-12-12-31 timings

Thanks!

By the way, I'm on the newest BIOS revision. I don't remember what the exact number is, but thought I should throw that out there.

I just flashed the latest BIOS as well. What I was looking for where your actual settings inside your BIOS related to your overclock. Multiplier, vcore, those settings.
