4690k compatibility with Maximus VI Hero

Hi, I bought Z87 Maximus VI Hero motherboard last month and still not using it because I'm waiting for the 4690k to come out. Is the 4690k already compatible with my board? I'm afraid that I might encounter an issue like not booting up. Do I need to use old processor (which I don't have) to update the bios first?

There should not be any issues, devils canyon is just a hasewll chip with better internal heat dissipation.

you probably need a bios update because from what I've heard last a z87 mobo will not work with devils canyon. But I've heard rumors that say otherwise.

It should start up fine at least, if you run into any issues down the road, feel free to do a bios update
