i5 4690k using OC Genie in Bios z97 PC Mate... I tried OC from 3.5 to 4.0 but I thought my core temps were getting to high, during FarCry Primal on ultra I was hitting 67 degrees Celsius. is that bad? bad for OC?
Using a Cryorig C7 which is a aftermarket one, but I do not think its very advanced. looks like a fairly basic cooler
If your using a Itx case and motherboard thats fine but if you have a full sized/medium case and Atx motherboard you should defiantly buy a better cooler from a company like cooler master that make really great ones. Make sure to pick a solution so people stop going into this finished thread looking to get help and/or people with similar issues looking for a solution for a similar issue/problem.
Install Realtemp 3.70 and play one of your most demanding performance games like far cry primal for about an hour. It will tell you your lowest to highest cpu temperature. And 67 isnt that bad but you should check the temperature before over clock and after and decide on how you want to keep it.
Thank you for the advice! My load temps in FarCry Primal before over clock were only 50-55, after over clock i was hitting 67 high, one core hit 70. Sorry, I know nothing about overclocking. and just tried the automatic feature "OC Genie" in my bios. But the temp jump sorta scared me, so I changed it back lol

Thats fine, the time you should really start to worry about temperatures is when it gets to 70+. Are you using a after market cooler or the stock one?
