470w out of 500w PSU and general check out

As you can see I currently have a 500w PSU and the components (according to PCPartPicker) take 470w to run. While yes I do plan to upgrade to a 750w, I just want to know if this is safe (I won't be overclocking till I get the 750w) and that overall the build looks nice. No bottlenecking or anything like that. Thanks.

I wouldn't, that's a low quality 500w PSU. The CX range have a bad reputation for failing and can damage other components when they do.

if you don't overclock the build, the psu will be good enough in the short term. but i would not do it for longer than a couple of months. as you noted you are pushing it pretty hard for a lower quality psu and in the long term this spells trouble.

you are ok for now but i'd get at least 550w from a quality unit before trying any overclocking at all. 600w would be better since the 390 can be a bit power hungry oc'ed

If it was my PC I would not risk it. Its up to you of course but for me its just not worth the risk to the rest of the PC

depending on your budget there are a lot of quality units out there. often the best prices can be found on the evga b2/g2 750w models. they are usually around $75 but often have $30 or more rebates attached to them.

there are plenty of others as well worth a look. when the time comes for the upgrade, come back and ask again for suggestions. we can look at current pricing and give a better recommendation at that time

It's a friend of mines build that I'm helping him with. He ended up rushing me a few nights ago and to be completely honest I kinda 'threw' a PSU on it and checked earlier wattage but forgot to when it was finished (yup, Ima pro :/) Another long story short he can't really change the 500w out right now so I guess the only choice is too wait it out till he can get a 750w.
