Hello all, like the title says, should I upgrade to Skylake from a 4770 non k (no letters) and what one would you recommend? (no budget limit)

how much of a boost should I get also? I really play a lot of different games from MOBA/FPS/MMO/RPG/RTS but one sticks out like a sore thumb and that's Arma 3 and I believe that is CPU dependent right? because I get 60 FPS on a MSI 980ti G6 Gaming

if it helps I do mostly gaming but also I watch youtube/movies (two screens)

looking forward to your help, thanks!

The i7-4770 runs at a Turbo of 3.9GHz.

Going from 4.0GHz to 4.5GHz only gained 2FPS (53 to 55FPS).

That means your not looking at much if any scaling advantage to a better CPU than you have now. And I know you aren't going to see a noticeable advantage in any other game either.

*Furthermore, there's no "future proofing" much to be had either since we're starting a shift towards DX12 gaming which uses the CPU much more efficiently as it can theoretically use most of the eight threads but also does so more efficiently (in some cases 2X as efficient).
You're not going to see much of an upgrade unless you upgraded from a Sandy bridge cpu or older. You will at the most get a 10-15% increase it perfomance at the most. Which in my opinion means it's definitely not worth the cost of upgrading (CPU,Mobo and ram). That cpu should last for a few more years at the minimum, perhaps even more considering on how slow the performance gain is pr new generation. The skylake cpus are only 10-15 faster than stock Devils canyon (4690 and 4790), which is only a refresh of the cpu that you currently own (100mhz increase on core and they run just a bit cooler).
