4770k on c226 mobo?

Hi all,

I have a lenovo TS440 server got from a good deal and use it as my main workstation. It uses e3-1225v3 cpu, c226 chipset and ecc ram.

I recently got an i7-4770k and I'm wondering whether this cpu can work fine with this c226 mobo or not since they are both LGA1150.

The e3 you have is almost identical to the 4770, lacking an iGPU and OC capabilities.
Since the C226 does not support OCing, you would gain nothing from it.
