4770k Temp high?

Greetings,

I have recently been keeping an eye on my CPU because it was getting quite hot. And by hot i mean
40-50°C with nothing special running (a browser and some chat programs)
70-80°C while playing games like Black Desert Online
75-85°C while playing games like Paragon
all on medium-low settings.
I think this is rather high, what do u guys think?

My specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte H87M-HD3
CPU: i7 4770K (not overclocked)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 760 (not overclocked)
SSD: Samsung 850 PRO 512GB
Case: cooler master haf xb evo

Its quite the old pc already (nearly 5 years) Might be time for a new one?

what is your current heat sink? that is a good CPU, there are not really any upgrades for it. ( the 6700K is hardly much better.)

It could be as simple as a dusty heat sink, a loose heat sink, bad paste, or all three.

I got a plain stock cooler.

I got a plain stock cooler.

Stock cooler is the problem. Intel stock coolers are weak. Hyper 212 EVO is a good choice for a new cooler.

One more question: is there enough room on the motherboard for the Hyper 212 EVO? Considering the motherboard is micro ATX

EDIT: Nevermind that, was looking at the dimensions the wrong way
