I currently have a dilemma,
I'm running a Core i7 4770s with a stock intel cooler, my temps are ~35C idle and ~75-76C load. My current fan setup is a 200mm front fan, 140mm side fan, and 120mm bottom fan as intake. While a 120mm rear fan and 2x 120mm top fan as exhaust. I'm planning on grabbing a Hyper 212 Evo to replace the stock fan since even on a low power cpu, intel stock fan simply bothers me lol. My dilemma is if I do choose to install the Hyper 212 evo, my 140mm intake side fan has to go. I've heard that side intake fan somewhat disturbs the natural airflow, and I've also heard that it helps the video card considerably (I run a R9 280). What i'm trying to decide right now is if it is worth it to sacrifice my side panel fan for an upgraded cpu cooler.

I should probably mention that I already have the hyper 212 evo sitting under my desk xD

Any advice would be greatly appreciated ^-^

Okay, first of all, may i suggest that you change you fan setup completely? It's not optimal for cooling at all.

Right now you have positive pressure, meaning that you have more intake than exhaust fans. It certainly helps to keep the dust out but for cooling, it's much better to have negative pressure.

Additionally, you would want a fan to exhaust all the hot air the Hyper Evo blows from the cooler. You can't just leave it hanging as it will heat up the temp inside the case which results in increased temps for the GPU and CPU.

What case do you have? model/brand please.

I took your advice and changed to negative pressure. I removed the 140mm side panel fan and moved it to bottom intake, the bottom intake 120mm fan is now used in a push/pull config on the hyper 212 evo, the hot air from the hyper 212 is exhausted directly out of the case by the rear 120mm fan as well. The push/pull was probably unneccesary but bleh I had an extra 120mm fan. Now my setup is Intake - 200mm front, 140mm bottom, exhaust 120mm rear, 2x 120mm top. The intake is filtered so hopefully dust won't be too much of an issue even though its negative pressure.

So far, and to my suprised, after losing the side panel fan, my gpu idle temp dropped 2-3 degrees. as for cpu idle is now around 28-29 C, while during load it doesn't seem to break 60 C. This is with the same ambient room temperature as before.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, removing the side panel fan was more than worth it.
