Hi guys

I just wondering about to upgrade from this

4790
16 gb 1600mhz ram DDR3
2060 super 8gb
asus b85-g

to

10400
Msi B460
16 gb DDr4
same Gpu

thanks the advice advance :)

Solution
Worth is something only YOU can determine.

To the extent that your games have a cpu limitation, you will do better.
Your 4790 has 8 threads and a passmark rating of 7204 with a single thread rating of 2227.
The 10400 has 12 threads and a rating of 12856/2604.
All good.
If your games are cpu centric like sims, mmo and strategy games, you will do better.

If you are playing fast action games, they will be more graphics limited
but your frame rate will be more consistent.

If you play multiplayer games, the extra threads will do you better.

Buy a 2 x 8gb DDR4 ram kit. 2666 is likely the max speed a non Z490 based motherboard can support.
Not a big negative since actual performance on Intel is not much impacted by ram speeds when you...

I would not buy a B460 chipset motherboard. While a low end board such as asus b85-g can support a high end i7, that is not the case with today's 10th gen cpus because of the hefty power requirements. A typical B460 board lacks the power delivery system to run a high end cpu such as 10700k. Also, B460 has a bastardized memory subsystem. In short, save $100 on a board with this in mind.

Thanks.
I will see some extra fps?

Depends on games, and your graphics card. I would recommend against a 10400, though.

You could do an R5 3600 build, and get better results, for a similar price.
