Recently my friend is having problems with his powercolor 380 and i'm going to put it in my pc to test it out and try to fix it, will be be able to power it?

I don't think that would be a good idea. that GPU could draw up to near 300 watts alone, and the CPU draws 100+. it is much better to wait for a better PSU, and then test it.

Well im not going to be playing games on it, im just needing to look at the drvers and display adapters and stuff
well if your father only has the 4770K, or that and some lower powered card, the swap could work, but just remember, that the CX PSUs should really not be trusted at high load for extended periods of time, so I would just swap for the test duration. that should make the risk of something going wrong much lower.
