Hey guys.
I want to buy new cpu and mb in few days, and i'm not sure what should i choose.

For now i have fx 8350 cpu and m5a97 evo r2.0 ASUS mb.
I want to upgrade because i'm gonna build second pc (to study and to do other "unnecessary" things :D ) with current cpu and mb and some other components i have.

I wondered about i7 4790k devils canyon (cause it's the best one ( i guess) for gaming & advanced graphic programs) - that's what i usually do on my primary pc

No idea which mb should i choose, i just want good gaming mb, if it's possible - mostly with black and blue elements cause i have everything in these colors.

And what goes with pc buying, i need a good cooler ( noctua nh d15 ? ).
(i have scythe mugen 3 rev B on my fx, but i wanna keep it to secondary pc, cause why not (stock cooler suck and this one looks pretty cool))
My case is tt chaser mk-1, so propably cooler height and size doesn't matter

My budget is ~700$.

I want new CPU and MB to be enough for gaming on ultra details for next 2 years or more.

My GPU is 7950 HD OC sapphire vapor-x, but i'm going to change it to 290X or something better in less than a year, after christmas maybe.

I use 2 1080p displays for now (maybe i'll get 3rd one later, dunno) but anyway i want to play just on one of them. (i want to connect secondary one to intel hd graphics, to maximize GPU preformance in games).

So, what do you think, will 4790k + "insert your mb proposition here" + nh d15 set will be good one ?

I'm waiting for answers :)

PS. Sorry if my english is noticeable bad :D

Seems like a strange reason to upgrade.

I'd personally recommend just keeping the FX-8350 until the newer DDR4 capable Intel chips are out as your primary gaming rig. The i7 vs the 8350, I don't think the gains justify the cost at this point. The Bottleneck is going to be the videocard unless you SLI Titans or triple SLI.

Build a small Mini ITX setup, that uses considerable less power and put it a decent SSD for study.

But i really don't like slow pc's - where slow means slower than mine at this moment :D (i have SSD for system)
Other thing is, i need kinda powerful one for some programs i need to study with. Also, i read than new intel cpu's with unlocked core (i mean with "k") on 1150 will be released in Q2 2016. And at first it will be kinda expensive i quess, so i want to change cpu and do next upgrade in ~2017 year.

Depending on what you are doing, I don't know how much of a boost you are going to get. You could probably put together a mid-tier i5 Mini ITX setup and use your old videocard for around that price.

Just my personal opinion. I don't think the gain is big enough to justify the cost at this point.

You could easily save lowering the i5 to something slower, but it will perform as well as the FX, and just as well as the i7 if the program does not use Hyperthreading.

I have win7 64 home premium, proffesional x64 (now in use) and win8 64 proffesional (so os is not a problem)
I have also free 5850HD.
I wanted to do what i wrote, and in next 2 months buy 650W psu, 1TB hdd, case and 6 or 8GB ram to build secondary pc.

And i want to change cpu & mb, cause (maybe it's broken, really i have no idea same as people here have any (i asked few times, checked thousands of times, something is a bit wrong and nobody knows what's reason)) my card makes 30% better fps's in my friend's pc (which is 2010 top build based on i7 2600k)

Agree, i don't need 100% of this fx in 2nd pc, but this cpu and mb makes me ANGRY few times a month, so i want to change them. And if i do, why not to use them in 2nd one.

Also, integrated intel hd graphics connected to 2nd display should give me few more fps's on primary one :p

Don't use the integrated Intel card, that will probably cause more driver headaches than it's worth.

I would recommend 16GB of RAM on the new system. Not 6, 6 is an odd number for a dual channel motherboard. 8 or 16, 2 x 4 or 2 x 8.

This is overbudget only assuming you are not buying the RAM right away. I went liquid, since the Noctua would look off with the odd colour fans. They have black fans coming out soon.

Hm. Liquid cooler isn't what i want to buy, cause it looks worse, have only a bit better performance, and it needs bonus place for fans. Here's photo of my build: http://i.imgur.com/p7kvJsr.jpg , i want to keep all fans on their places, cause it looks cool at night (200mm fans are with blue leds, top 2 200 fans are only to look cool). Yeah, i know, look isn't the most important thing, but i like keep things nice.

And odd fans color itsn't problem, i can paint their borders to black.
Otherwise, they aren't this bad, my friend has d14 so i've seen how it looks in real.

I'd go with 4790k, noctua and mb for now, i can buy rest of 2nd pc parts in 2-3 moths, when i'll have some more money (i don't need them asap)

About MB, should't it have z97 chipset ? Rest specifications look ok, but i really want to have it in blue and black colors.
