4850 sli or crossfire question

Ok guys can i sli or crossfire two different brand name 4850 1gb cards together or do they have to be the same name brand????

You can mix them but just so you know its usual that if the clock speeds are differant both cards will run at the lower speed.

I guess it would be better if they were the same name brand or will it really make a big difference?
