Another noob question for you all. I'm running Jedi Knight academy and I have the fps capped at 125. The fps is so low that my gpu is mostly in it's 2d clocks when I'm running it (500/750) but every few seconds it bumps up to full speed (700/1050) then back down to the 2d clocks. This happens repeatedly as I play the game. My question is, is it bad for the card to be frequently switching between clocks like this?

Your gpu runs its 3d clocks when its being stressed. I dont think you fully understand. If your playing a game and then alt tab to see the clocks, the clocks have already lowered themselves because your viewing in 2d.

I'm using gpu-z to log when it changes, and I can see that it only periodically goes to the 3d clocks whilst I'm playing. I don't think this game stresses my gpu enough since I capped the fps.
