hi there again!i have another technical question?i own an xpc shuttle and bought an ati 4870hd (overclocked edition)not installed yet!as i understand heat is an big issue with powerful gpu's!my question is to owners of this particulare card!when the card is installed does the airflow created by the fan of the card,go from the inside out?or from the outside into the computer case?i am putting an xtra 92mm fan in to case to create enough airflow to keep this bad boy cool!

Depends on the card. Reference coolers (factory stock) exhaust air out the back of the card. Others dump the heated air into the case. Not a big deal with some airflow.

Reference cooler - exhausts out back:

Not reference, wont look like that. Non-reference means the vendor selling the card installs their own cooling solution. Non-reference coolers will often perform better for cooling the gpu, provided you can keep the case well ventilated.

I have a non reference cooler sapphite 4870 512mb that actually does dump SOME air out the back, but mostly into the case. I also have 3 120mm case fans (had 4 until I needed room for new CPU HSF) but that is intentional overkill to compensate for the OC heat i get off my CPU.
