4890 crossfire recommended setup

Hi Guys,

I am relatively new to gaming and want to have a very good gaming rig around 1500 and I have researched a little bit and I have narrowed down on using 4890 in cross fire. This is a configuration I have selected at Avadirect and could any one say if this seems a good one

Thats pretty much the best rig you can get for that money. But if i were you id buy an AMD based pc, which is somewhat cheaper for the same performance and you could upgrade the video cards.

you save $200 by getting those two, which perform about the same. And you can upgrade to a new case and a bigger hard drive or something. Check out the ati 5870.

I have the i7, and if you plan to OC... I will say that you do NOT need an 850W PSU, the 750W will do you just fine.

If you are planning to get (2) 4890's I would really just spent the extra $80 and get a single 5870. It will give you the most life as it uses less power and is DX11. Down the road you have the option to Crossfire it when the cards comes down in price and you need it. (2) 4890's you would have to unload and start over with your graphics. I have a 4870 and actually JUST bought another 4870 off ebay. Oc'ed the 4870 falls slightly under the 4890. And 2 of these in crossfire runs just above or just below the 5870, depending on the game.

Your best bet is a 750W psu and a 5870.
