Hi all, I recently updated to a super ultra wide 49 inch Samsung (C49HG90) I use to play on a 1440p 27 inch monitor and I was able to set the resolution of the monitor in nvidia control panel to 1024x768 and then would set my scaling mode to full screen so when I went into csgo I would enable the resolution and then put 4:3 aspect ratio and it would stretch my screen making bodies appear larger on screen. My question is would I be able to run csgo on 1024x768 without stretching it to the full resolution of my monitor on full screen because when it stretches to 49 inches it becomes extremely hard to see everything. I want to run black bars csgo and only take up around 24-27 inches of my monitor to play the game and use that as if it were a smaller monitor. while still having the stretched 4:3 resolution. Perhaps someone could help.

Edit: Managed to get black barred 1024 x 768 not stretched by setting scaling mode in nvidia control panel to aspect ratio, then enabled 4:3 in csgo settings and 1024 resolution. Csgo is currently playing in middle of my screen taking up approximately 1/3 of the screen with the other 2/3 being black bars on left and right side. If now we could stretch the game outwards horizontally it would be great...

Connect another input, you have 2 HDMI and 2 DP then set the modes to which you have many of.

In PC mode
  • Auto: Display the picture according to the aspect ratio of the input source.
  • Wide: Display the picture in full screen regardless of the aspect ratio of the input source.
  • 17" (4:3): Use a 4:3 aspect ratio on a 17-inch screen. Pictures with a different aspect ratio will not be displayed. • 19" (4:3): Use a 4:3 aspect ratio on a 19-inch widescreen. Pictures with a different aspect ratio will not be displayed.
  • 19" Wide (16:10): Use a 16:10 aspect ratio on a 19-inch widescreen. Pictures with a different aspect ratio will not be displayed.

Dumb question...

if you can afford a $1000 monitor why didn't you invest more into the system itself? Why are you wanting to run 1024x768 on a Super Ultra-wide? 768p on a 32:9 scale just isn't going to turn out very nice regardless what you do.

I think I would rather just set up the monitor as a dual-screen, run the game off one side and save the other for something else.

haha, I think you have not played much competitive csgo with that response lol! When you have been playing 1024 x 768 for so long you cannot play without it lol, it makes the bodies appear larger it is not about being able to run the game with high fps or not which it does help as a bonus. How can I set it up as dual screen?

Hi I connected an HDMI but cannot seem to figure out how to get both screens side by side. I can switch through them via source.
