4G LTE MiFi for gaming?? Help?

Ok so I have recently moved and have no access to Internet except for satellite and 4G LTE so I'm obviously going for the LTE connection. Now my concerns is that will it be good enough for multiplayer gaming?

I'm mainly on Starcraft 2, but I do play a lot of different games and I don't wanna lag people out

I'm currently looking at Verizon's JetPack 5510L MiFi as it seems to have good reviews.
The data is expensive but I'm willing to pay for 20GB which would surely be enough, as I work most of the day

I would tether via USB3.0 to my desktop system. I have a very nice system and it would be such a shame to not be able to use it!!
I am open to any suggestions! Please help me out!

BTW the only carriers in my area is unfortunately verizon and AT&T. I am looking for the fastest connection possible! Thanks and cheers!

Sorry, but no form of wireless internet is going to be sufficient for gaming. It has a considerable amount more latency to go wirelessly to the antenna (which is often linked wirelessly to a another antenna).

If anything the LTE connection, however the latency will be higher than a wired connection but not nearly as bad as satellite.

Yeah I understand that the latency will be higher but not as significant as boosted1g is saying. Sry but ur answer is ridiculous dude lol. After googling for 5 mins your short "no wireless will work" is quickly debunked.
I have heard of people doing it and even being able to BF3. The ping is between 50ms-200ms which is exactly terrible. But very within the ability to play SC2.
Am I wrong?
I'm not looking at twitch games... Only role playing, strategy.
I am preferably looking for someone's reply that has done it before.

RTS games on that connection should not be a big problem if it all. 50-200ms is acceptable. A satellite connection as you know would not be.

If you can get very strong LTE signal it will play games to a point. What you will find happening is the cell network will sometimes attempt to swap you to another tower to balance their network. This causes short variations in the delay or even drops. I still don't know why they do this when you can only get 1 tower in the first place. If you can't get a LTE signal don't even bother. HSPA+ has huge latency compared to LTE.

Generally ATT has better latency and bandwidth numbers than Verizon. Verizon had to get their network installed very quickly to meet the obligations they committed to the government so they have less bandwidth behind the towers and they spread them our more than ATT. So if you can get ATT at the same or better signal level than Verizon you will get faster results with att. This is all about coverage you need to go with which ever vendor has better coverage. Verizon is improving their network so in many place it runs the same as ATT. In general verizon has more LTE coverage

It depends how much you play games but 20g will go fast but when you have no other choice for good internet what can you do other than pay the money.

I am posting this for everyone who doubted it and all the other people wanting to know if it will work.
I went and got the Verizon Mifi 4510L and tested my speed.
My average ping is 59ms (this is considerably better than I thought it'd be)
My download average was 14.64Mbps (high of 18.12 low of 7.12Mbps (again much better than I assumed)
The only downer was my horrific upload speeds lol Average of 1.02Mbps (high of a 1.48Mbps low of .6Mbps)
Uploads speeds don't matter for online gaming... Even downloads speed aren't THAT important... The key to a nice expirence is a low ping.
Also keep in mind that I tested these 4G LTE speeds in Indiana near 11:00PM. Also in a isolated area in the country.
I tested my speeds through speedtest.net and also through my MSI Z97 GD65's Killer Network and got similar results.
Starcraft 2 had virtually no lag at all. Played better than ever.
I will keep posting games that work well on 4G LTE or ill make another post about it!

I am able to play the following games on 4G LTE so far without lag.
(PS3) GTAV Online
(PC) Transformers: FoC [Shooter]
(PC) Starcraft 2
These are the only games I've tried so far and they all play amazingly. Just watch out for updates. I was pleasantly surprised that it played Transformers:FoC with no lag! It's a fast paced shooter.

i also am in your situation luckily with verizon i get 5 bars and honestly while not as good as wired it is not nearly as bad as you would think in most fps games at worst 90 ping and thats with like 6 other people using it at the same time

I know it's been a while since this was posted but I currently use 4g lte on my ps4.
24mb/s download 2.1mb/s upload and a ping average of 60-80ms.
I mostly play warthunder dogfights and experience very little lag

Very late answer, but I have been using MiFi for the past 2 years (on PC), and it is an absolutely horrible experience for gaming, especially on Windows 10. Avoid like the plague.
