Hey guys

I just upgraded my Toshiba Satellite A100-906 from 1GB to 4GB(2GB x 2GB).

And the official Toshiba webpage it says 4GB maximum.

So I formated my Toshiba from Windows XP 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit.

But when I checked the properties on my Toshiba it says 4GB (usable 3GB)

And my GPU is NVIDIA 7600 GO

How can i full use my 4GB memory?

If you guys can help me i would be very thankful

it is saying 3gb usable because its likely you are running a 32bit os... go to start right click on my computer and then properties and check the system type

Just checked it again and it says 64bit

he already stated he switched to a 64 bit os, thats what I first thought it was

32-bit Windows has an address space of 4GB. Part of that is used by system BIOSes and graphics memory.

With a 256MB graphics card about 3.3-3.5GB of RAM can be addressed and used, assuming you have 4GB fitted.

If you fit a graphics card with 1GB of memory only about 2.6-2.8GB of the RAM would be addressable and usable.

If your system RAM is greater than 4 GB you might need 64bit version windows OS.

I hope this will help you.

Thanks...........
