4gb of RAM

Currently researching building a new pc for the first time and since I'm new at this, I'm a little unsure of some things...

I am seriously looking at getting an Asus p5w dh deluxe and I was wondering if there are any issues with using 4gb of RAM with it. Would 4x1gb sticks or 2x2gb sticks work better?

Is it even worth it at this time to have 4gb? If the new machine was an XP machine, I'd go with 2gb without hesitation, but the PC I will be building will be running Vista x64 and I heard that Vista tends to be very liberal with the RAM usage. The new machine will be used for gaming, photoshop, some light video work, and all the other general purpose things.

I have that motherboard and I'm running 8GB of memory. I have one issue, seen here....

Save for that, Vista runs just fine. OSX also runs fine. Haven't tried Photoshop on it yet, but I'm not certaint there is a true 64 bit version of PS yet. Feel free to ask me any questions/concerns about the board...

Mainly Porn...

No, actually it's for 3D Animation. IE: ZBrush, Maya, Softimage.

Mainly though I got it for ZBrush, which is a 3D Sculpting program that deals with multi-millions of polygons, and RAM is the most important thing to have for that software. Also, multi-tasking with all of these software opened and running at the same time...

Machines only a week old, and the ram already dropped in price $80.

Assuming the board supports more then 4GB (I haven't checked out the specs), 2x2GB will be better as it will leave slots available to add more later (since Vista 64bit can support more then 4GB of RAM).
Of course most programs can't access anything like that amount..... but it would be sweet to have!!!!
