4gb (only 2.99gb usable) dell optiplex 745

I have mid tower dell optiplex and i have
2 (1gb ddr2)
1 (2gb ddr2)

the 2gb ram i took from an old work pc
i tried installing them in many ways to make the all 4gb readable but it was not possible
what should I do

another thing when i used only 2gb ram or the dual 2X1gb ram it read it normally as 2gb with no usable message

I added a photo here
the 2gb ram in the front while the other two 1gb in the back

is this right or i missed something

Cpu-z shows memory like that and forgive me if I missed something, I never used this program before

gfx card is built in intel

That "missing" memory is used by the video buffer. Win sets aside some system RAM for a buffer depending on the size of the card's VRAM.

32 bit

Between a 32-bit os and an igpu you aren't going to get it to see more ram. with a 64-bit os you might get it to see ~3.5Gb because of what the igpu uses.
