I'm upgrading from my 550 ti and I'm not sure if I should go with the 4gb card or 2gb card. I've heard that 4gb's will help with SLI, which I plan to use later on. Also I'm upgrading to 1440p sometime this year. Will the extra 4gb of VRAM help me out there, compared to the 2gb?

Yeah. 2gb is good up to 1920x1080. One card's vram is used in SLI. A lot of people will say you don't need that much vram, because games don't require more than 2gb. They will in tge future though. I'm sure someone here will disagree with me, so you can look at it from both sides and go from there. If money is no problem, why not get the 4gb?
It would help you out to have more VRAM, but I would advise against getting the 4GB GTX 770, the 256-bit memory bus severely limits the memory, and it would be a much better idea to go with a GTX 780 (if you can) or an R9 280X instead.
