4gb over 2gb??

Is there any tangible benefit of 4gb ram over 2gb ram in a gaming pc?
The comp would be running XP or Vista 32 bit, so it's only going to see 3.1gb...

The other relevant hardware:
8800gts 640mb
E6700
Asus P5B Plus, or Deluxe
RAID 0 HDD's

Depends on the applications you're running; besides, why would you install 4Gb on an OS that can only utilize 3.1Gb? To me, it seems like a waste of money unless you can get (I assume) another 2Gb stick for FREE.....

If you aren't using all 2Gb of RAM at the moment, you might as well wait until you upgrade to 64-bit.

well i mean if i put in 3 gb, then it woudlnt' run in dual channel, right?
but i guess i wont b getting 4gb

You can fit 2x1Gb and 2x512Mb ! That still gives dual channel. Start up Task Manager and minimise. Before shutdown, check performance Tab, Peak Commit Charge, if less than 2Gb, you have enough RAM!
