4gb ram in 2gb ram slot support

hllo...i recently buyed a ram of 4gb bt after i installed it....the pc runs bt after sometime its comes to blue screen of death....bt i done a little bit of search showing that my pc will run 4gb in 2gb ram slot....nicely....bt i m getting ds prblm...my pc is compaq pressario q3520ix.....plz hlp if any solution tu fix it

It says that my pc supports only 4gb ram(2x2gb)....bt thn also my pc run correctly with 6gb of ram....unless after smtym it stop nd come to blue screen of death..
