4gb ram only 2gb usable

installed memory :4.00 gb (2.00 gb usable)
i have :ECS MCP61M-M3 motherboard

i buy extra 2gb Ram but its seems not working i already tried to use msconfig but still the same

It sounds like the new module isn't being detected.
Make sure it is properly fitted in the slot, the clip at both ends should "click" in to the notch to lock the module down.

If that is not the problem, the RAM module you bought may be incompatible with the board.

is that videocard onboard or in a slot? if onboard then reduce the amount of ram to 512k so that you will have about 3.5gigs of useable ram.

Its videocard in slot also i have windows 32bit

I'm running basically the same thing but with 3.25gb of usable ram. you also have onboard video so go into the bios & turn it off which should free up 3/4gb of ram.

read your motherboard manual as it will tell you how to access the bios & how to disable the onboard video so that it will free up the system ram assigned to the onboard video.

originally i have 2gb ram which is 2GB DRR3 1333 DIMM CL9 then i buy another 2x2 GB ram kingston 2gb drr3.because i though that the previous one is over heat. i try to use the 2x2Gb but it only shows 2gb usable.

you show 4 gigs but 2 is only usable. 32bit windows can't use more then 3.25 to 3.5 gigs or ram which means 1.25 to 1.5gigs is being used by your onboard video not the videocard as it has it's own ram. read your motherboard manual on how to get access to your bios & disable the onboard video.

my motherboard. i dont know how to disable on board videocard i lost the manual

socket is not the problem as the motherboard & windows see 4gigs of ram, it is a settings issue. take the computer into your local computer store & see if they can fix it.

i try to remove another 2gb and still in the system is shows 4gb memory (2gb usable)
