4gb ram sticks in Asrock 770 extreme 3?

I have this board with a phenom II processor on it, set up to learn about fiddeling with overclocking and performance tweaks.

Anyways its running on 3x2gb ram sticks i scrounged. 1333mhz corsair ones btw.
Anyways i got a couple of hynix 4gb (HMT151R7BFR4C-H9) sticks that i tried to fit,

But with those in the board the machine wont pass bios check, just boots directly to black screen and stays that way.
I tried the sticks with two corsair sticks, just the hynix ones alone and finally the hynix sticks one by one alone.

Bios should be latest version and i did try setting the ram clock to auto..

Whats next? claim the hynix sticks DOA?

The Hynix is ECC DRAM - your mobo only uses non-ECC DRAM
