I have a HP Pavilion g6-2301ax laptop with 64bit processor (AMD Quad Core A8) and 64bit windows 8 OS. The laptop came with a 4GB DDR3 RAM which I recently upgraded to 8GB [2x4GB] (Kingston Value Ram Low Voltage Series DDR3). Windows is showing 8GB ram available. But when I run Fifa 15 (or any other application) only 4GB ram is used and then it goes into using the paging file. The remaining 4GB RAM is unused. I have 2 slots and have tried interchanging the RAM chips and slots but no use. Also, I had earlier set the paging file size to 2048MB but it still shows 8146MB in MSI Afterburner. Please help.

Here is a memory test showing ram is working fine:

Computers with APU's allocate half of their ram to video automatically, You can change like this. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/89373-can-i-adjust-how-much-ram-is-allocated-to-my-apus-gpu-core/

Yes.

It is terrible at doing so dynamically, so go into the BIOS (reboot the computer, press the corresponding key, either Delete or F8/F10), go to CPU settings, usually in the North Bridge area, or something similar (anything talking about overclocking would probably a good place to look).

Then find video or GPU memory.and change it to something like 1GB or 512MB. Anything more is a waste.

For reference, I am using a desktop with an A8 5600k and 4GB of RAM. If I set it to dynamic, it uses 3GB. That is absurd.

So I set it to 512MB because it's a work computer and not for gaming.

But there is no option in the bios to change the amount of ram allocated to the gpu. Is there any other option to do that?

It should be under advanced chipset configuration, and find dedicated memory.
