I am kinda stumped. i am building two new boxes. identical hardware.

abit p35-e
4x1gig g.skill ddr800
intel 6750 c2d
etc

I installed both boxes with 2 gigs after being unable to do so with 4gigs. both boxes run as normal with no issues with 2x1gig sticks in channels 1+3. if i add memory to channels 2+4 i can no longer boot into windows. bios shows memory. These "seems" an os or chipset driver issue but i am unable to find any conclusive information regarding this issue. there have been a few posts around the net with people having similar problems but no insightful responses.

I am not overclocking anything yet. Using xclio windtunnel case, geminii heatsink on cpu, thermalright on 8800gts640 video, etc etc. No heat issues. punished it for burn in (with 2gigs) with no errors for 6 hours. entire system runs perfectly until i add the extra sticks.

added testing... i put in 1 extra stick. this allowed me to boot into windows but if i tried to run punishement i bsod or hard lock within seconds. have not been able to catch a good error message that is helpful. so with 3 gigs it almost works.

any insight or tips would be helpful. the box is being built for overclocking so cooling and system are ready with some thermal leway.

thanks in advance.

1. Can you guarantee all 4 sticks of memory are good?
2. Is there enough power to the motherboard? What is your PSU?

If you have a bootable Memtest 86 CD, set boot to CD. If sytem boots problem could be OS related (of coarse you can then also check memory). If no boot, or memry errors, try raising FSB voltage +0.1; also varify that your Dimm Voltage is equal to Manuf. spec.
