I couldn't find any information whether if I were to get a current any GPU can/will support 4k at higher than 60hz, is this is port bandwidth issue or a cable bandwidth issue?

Seiki has released a 120hz 4k TV, for example would I be able to play any games at 4k 120hz with crossfired 295x2's?

There is no support for it atm. And no, the Seiki won't work at 120hz. It won't even work at 60hz. That is a 30hz TV. But I think it may be possible to use it at 1080p and get 120hz on some of the 4k TV's if they support DP or HDMI 2.0 with the right GPU.

It's not that the panel can refresh that fast. It is the input methods don't allow for those FPS.

The question is will I be able to run a mini-DP to DP 1.3 like I can run a mini-DP to DP 1.2 already, or will the gpu itself need a different port?

Did you hear about the SuperMHL connection 8k@120fps I don't think there is a 4k high hz panel/connection standard.

I use 3k DSR on fallout 3 which is super old and still get about 100fps with a 780ti so can't imagine trying to do 4k high hz on games like DA:I or FC4

The problem is none of that exists yet. You'll have to wait if you want it.

According to this, it will also require compression to get to 120hz, which will reduce the quality of the image. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/displayport-1.3-vesa,27673.html

And according to this, the newest cards currently purchasable only support DP 1.2.

But will the GTX 980 in question support DP 1.3 when the cable gets released?
