My father ordered a 4k monitor (mu67 27MU67) a few days ago and has asked me to come up with a pc build that would support it.
The only thing that he would use the computer for would be basic web browsing, watching video, and doing light photo editing in photoshop.
I was hoping to get away without buying a graphics card.
According to intel, something like an i5-4460 should be able to handle 3840X2160 @60hz with DisplayPort.
According to some manufacturers of a few motherboards I looked up, they also support a max of 3840X2160 @60hz also with DisplayPort.
I've been hearing so many conflicting reports about this and nobody seems to be in the exact situation as me (everyone assumes I want to game on this pc or do other 3D applications).
Please, is there anyone out there who can tell me that intel HD 4600 graphics will run a 3840X2160 monitor @60hz?
I beg you to not question the reasoning behind this. I beg you to not be those people who make such unhelpful comments.
My father is hoping to not go over $550 US but that is not a set budget.
Thank you so much for your patience and help!
Here's a rough draft of the build:
