Question 4k 60hz monitor not showing 1440 60hz after gpu change while it did before.

i just got a new gpu, 2060S. and before i changed to this new gpu i could play games at 1440 at 60hz, now when i try to set it, it will only go to 30hz. it will do 4k and 1080 at 60hz, but nothing els. any ideas or solutions.

never mind, i found the issue which ill post here so other may know of it. it seems the custom rez feature for nvidia only works sometimes at some rez and refresh rates IF u start out one rez or another, and will run into problems when trying to swap between them and refresh rates. as a example. i was creating a custom rez for 1440 60hz while my desktop was set to 4k 60. the app had issues and would not swap between them. when it returned to my desktop after a block screen my desktop would be at 4k 59hz. spent about a hour looking stuff up online to find this out. but while my desktop was 1080 60hz and i made a custom rez for 1440 60hhz, it swapped flawlessly. and works without any problems as before while i had my older GPU
