What is better for gaming(mostly offline gaming) , 2k display at 144hz or 4k display at 60hz

Here is my spec
Ryzen 5 3600x
MSI MPG B550 Gaming plus
16gb RAM
Planning to buy RTX 3070
500gb nvme drive

A 3070 seems to be one of the big dogs in 4K gaming, and if you're not going to be doing any competitive gaming I would definitely go with the 4K. 144hz may be a little more smooth, but 4K will look a LOT better.
