Hey guys,

I know this question has been asked a lot, but I can't seem to find any solid answers for me personally.
I am building a new setup which will be running an ASUS 1080 and an i7-8700k.
I don't do any serious competitive gaming anymore such as CSGO, and will most likely be sticking to single player games such as the new AC Origins game.
Although gaming would be the major use, I most likely will also plan to watch movies on it which is why I am slightly leaning towards 4k.

I haven't got a massive budget, looking at around £400-£500 for my new monitor, which I am thinking will be 27/28 inches!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially any monitor recommendations!!

Thanks in advance!

Solution
A GTX 1080 is OK for 4K 60Hz.
Go with 60Hz if:
You don't play some FPS(first person shooter) games.
Watch movies
Edit videos
Go with 144Hz if:
Play FPS games/competitive games
Fast games E.G: CSGO, Minecraft ( Servers), Rainbow 6 Siege, Crysis........
Want smooth games.

If I were you I'd get a nice big 4K monitor. There's little reason for you to have 144hz. It is nice to be buttery smoof (yes so smooth the the melt together) but I'm single player it isn't that beneficial or nice. 60hz is a sweet spot for you and only if you plan on doing big time fps gaming go for 144hz. That and a 1080 ti is much more suited to 1440p 144hz.
