Question 4k Build - Opinion/Recommendations

Hey everyone, building a pc after a long time. Ended up going with a pre-built that was a pretty good deal but having it delivered unassembled (that's where all the fun is). But having been out of the market for a long time, I am sure I am going to have my hands full with the amount of catchup I will have to play being out of the pc building zone for a long time.

Here is the list of the components:
  • Intel Core i9 13900KF processor
  • DeepCool Castle 360mm ARGB liquid cooler (black)
  • PNY Verto RTX 4080 16GB graphics card
  • Giga Aorus Z790M Elite AX motherboard (micro-ATX - black)
  • 32GB Kingston Fury RGB 5200MHz RAM
  • 1TB ADATA Legend Gen 4 NVMe SSD
  • MSI A850GL PCIE 5 850W Gold PSU Antec P20C ARGB case
I was also collecting parts beforehand as the idea was to do a build (collecting parts on sale), but this prebuilt ended up costing way less. So do have the following parts at hand, that I am not sure whether to use in this build or not (initial idea of a white build).

  • Corsair ICUE 4000d Airflow Mid Tower Case - white
  • Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE White ARGB
  • Corsair RMx SHIFT Series RM850x Power Supply
  • Crucial P5 Plus (2tb) but returning now, to order Crucial T500 2tb on black friday sales
Not sure about the following things – RAM, Power-supply (both come with ATX 3.0 if I am correct) and the case (aesthetics and performance) primarily. But wanting to keep the costs down as much as possible, if recommended might just use as is for a while and upgrading down the line.

some comments:

the T500 is a pcie 5.0 ssd. the Z790 does not support pcie 5.0 ssd. keep the P5 plus.

the Z790M is a mATX board. the Corsair case is ATX. it will look a bit empty.

the peerless assassin is great cooler. go for it.

RMx shift is also a great PSU. but the MSI one is not bad either.

I think the Crucial T500 is a PCIE 4.0 drive, from my research. Unless, someone can confirm.

Yeah, returning the case for sure having thought about it and the mATX board will look empty.

It is already coming with a deep cool 360mm liquid cooler, which I reckon should be better for the processor?

Do you reckon, there would be limitations with the RAM?

What do you mean limitations. You can check the motherboard QVL list and see if the memory is on it. Kingston supplies memory to many motherboard manufactures so it tends to be on many lists.

In general you will not be able to tell any difference between memory of different speeds in real life applications. This is also true for difference between most better m.2 drives. If all you do is run benchmark tools you can see numbers change but it tends to be impossible to really tell the difference without some number on the screen telling you there is a difference.

There are some very narrow cases where it might make a difference but in gaming at 4k pretty much all that matters is the video card.

Sorry limitation might be a wrong word here but wanted to be sure since the build is high end, there are no bottlenecks from any components affecting achieving full potential of the system. RAM is definitely on the QVL list, just wasnt sure if should atleast get a 6000mhz (CL30).

But I reckon, I might just keep it as is and make changes after benchmarks. And yeah, you are right about 4k relying primarily on the graphic card!

Yes, sry my bad. The T500 is pcie 4.0

for gaming loads, the peerless assassin will do just fine. if you overclock and do sustained loads, the hot air from gpu in the already small case might affect the performance a bit.

you would have to see the documentation for peerless assassin for ram height clearance.
