hey guys.
new here so please be gentle .
I currently have a gen3 i7 , 32gb ram pc and I have just had a new 4k monitor for it.
but I don't know if my setup will give me a 4k / uhd resolution/display on it or just a hd display.
so im looking for a graphics card ( pref NVidia / GeForce ) to just display 4k and the odd bit of photoshop.

would a gtx 1050 ti card give me that or not ?
my motherboard is a asus pbz7-v lx and I am using the onboard graphics for now.

any help would be great as im wondering if just a new graphics card or upgrade to a gen 8 i7 with new motherboard would be more cost effective.

thanks

Intel HD Graphics 4000 supports resolution up to 1920×1200 through HDMI and 2560×1600 through DisplayPort. Therefore you will need a new GPU to display at 4K. When you look at the specs sheet for the 1050Ti it will support 4K https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1050/ via Displayport 1.4 or HDMI 2.0b. Did your monitor come with any video cables?
