4k Display gtx 960

i have a 50inch Philips 4k tv and i have a gtx 960 and iv changed my resolution to 3840 x 2160 but my screen keeps flashing evey few min is it something to do with the hertz i think its on 25hz or can that card not handle that res

It's not teh card that can't handle the res, it's teh connection to the TV.
Most 4k TVs can't take 4k@60Hz "signal".

so lower the htz to 25/30 is it?also its going through a 4k amp would that make any difference...hdmi from my tv into the amp and hdmi from the card into the amp

It's teh HDMI port in teh TV that's teh problem, so it won't help.
An yes, try 4k 24Hz.
